Diner Dash Wiki

Hal the Hungry Man is one of the customers who makes his first appearance in Diner Dash Hometown Hero.

History[]

Throughout the games, Hal always orders twice, doesn't tip well, and has average patience. He's slow to order, but is quick to eat. The fact that he orders twice can be annoying since it can take up a lot of time, not leaving enough free tables. On the flipside, it also means more points for the player. He will only order dessert after the second course.

Hal is said to be Tony's best friend and best man in Avenue Flo. He works as a construction worker, as well as a mechanic. Due to this occupation, he is able to help Flo rebuild her diner in Diner Dash 5: BOOM!, giving it a full visual upgrade.

In DinerTown Tycoon, Hal appeared in Squid Row and Thyme Square. In Squid Row he prefers ingredients like free range beef, kidney beans and jalapeno pepper. While in Thyme Square his favorite ingredients are aborito rice, finest imported dough and organic heavy cream.

He also made an appearance in DinerTown Detective Agency as an informant and possible suspect. His other appearances include Fitness Dash, Garden Dash and possibly Diaper Dash.

Now his most recent appearance is in the game Diner Dash Adventures. Since Minnie has replaced him as the big eater, Hal no longer orders twice. Instead he orders and eats at a rapid pace.

Appearance[]

Hal has a slight plump body with a mustache. He always wears a cap and a lumberjack shirt with beige pants, though he sometimes wears a hard hat. The color of the shirt varies according to the game. In Diner Dash Adventures, he now has dark spiked hair, a full beard, and blue eyes. His outfit is similar to his original, though the shirt is plain and the pants are supported by suspenders.

Personality[]

Hal is a warm and chummy guy who enjoys big helpings of food. He will lend a hand when called for, usually when it comes to building or repairing things. In Diner Dash Adventures, he becomes more reclusive, preferring to stick to his duties. He only ever seems to show his soft side to Max.

Trivia[]

  • In the Avenue Flo series and BOOM!, he is voiced by Adam Harrington[1].
  • According to artwork posted in the Playfirst blogs, Hal's surname is Munsch.[2]
  • In the help screen for Hometown Hero, he is the only character who remains static due to his animation code.[3]
